Predicting Astros Prospects for Arizona Fall League & Postseason Awards

We'll kind of talk about the Arizona Fall League real quick for those that maybe aren't too familiar with it.

But it's a league where teams send maybe it's six, I think somewhere around six to eight prospects.

They go play for about a month over in Arizona.

And it's a good level competition.

A lot of teams use it for players that they want to get further evaluation on against better competition or guys that maybe missed some time with injury.

But it's basically an extension of the season where they get a little bit better competition.

Am I missing anything there on the AFL?

No, and it's such a crap shoot to what to expect and who's going to go out there.

We've seen guys go out there before pitchers don't even pitch for that for that long.

Maybe don't even get into games just because, you know, you just want to go there, get some innings, maybe throw some bullpens.

They pull them early.

We've seen guys jump in early or jump in late in recent years.

Will Bush was a guy that jumped in late on the roster last year.

So it's just always different.

And, you know, the guys will name here today.

I'm sure we might have like two or three, but there's going to be some surprises, too.

There always is.

on who goes.

It's not just the guys that are injured or might need more time.

Sometimes it's guys that might have great spring trainings or, you know, pivotal spring trainings coming up opportunities to compete for roster spots.

And the Astros just want to see a little bit more of an extended time.

They'll have some coaches out there.

The managers already came out.

The Astros don't have a manager this year.

I do have the team.
