So I want folks to know about the first Midwestern festival of new SWANA plays.
And it's a culmination of new Arab American Theater Works Playwright Incubator Program.
So on June 6th and 7th at Open Book Performance Hall in Minneapolis, the festival includes readings of six new plays by Midwestern playwrights from Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, Ann Arbor, and here.
Sanaa Wazwaz is a playwright from Minneapolis, and she is presenting Birthright Palestine, a play that was inspired by her experience organizing for Palestinian liberation as a college student.
There's a psychological thriller, a fairy tale adaptation, domestic dramas, and a travel quest.

And another cool thing is that the audience will have the chance to discuss the plays after each performance.
