Cap, Quinn, and Insania unpack the DarkMago and Vintage match-fixing scandal that just rocked Dota's Esports World Cup. Hims: Access affordable, FDA-approved GLP-1 weight loss medications…
i mean it's unacceptable first of all i feel like i've talked a lot about match fixing in the past uh i feel like the big thing is at least based on what i heard is he found out that he's getting kicked after the event or he knew that he was getting kicked and he was thinking like i'm gonna cash in on my last chance because this is probably like you know i won't be on the top team again
and uh
yeah uh i honestly think it's really really sad that like that's the that's the mentality and that's like the approach that you take and i also feel like maybe this is a bit harsh but it's also pathetic like you're a pro player you've committed your life to competing and like you should believe that you're good enough to like accomplish things And this seems like a last resort, kind of like, I just want to make some money before it all ends.
And yeah, I mean, assuming that this is correct and they did match fix, I hope they get banned from everything and we never see them again.
Quinn, you have some history, Dark Mago.
You have thrown a lot of shade his way on his play.
You haven't been a big fan of him as a person or his play style.
When you found out that he was suspended, did this surprise you?
Yeah.
Like, I feel like...
I mean, even just the idea of just cashing out, I think it doesn't make any sense financially.
Because, like, from what I heard, first of all, he didn't get that much money.
It's not, like, the most reputable source, but, like...
I also heard it was...
What I heard was it's not that much money.
It was a month's
worth of salary for him, is what I heard.
Yeah.
And it's like, do you really...
Like, realistically... like could you earn more money doing anything else maybe but i doubt it you're like some 20 something who likely doesn't have a college education like are you actually making more money somewhere else i don't think so so to me financially it's also stupid decision like it would be one thing if he was getting 100 g's or something usd like that goes for like a lifetime or whatever that's one thing but like just a month's salary like to me it's so strange even financially it makes no sense um obviously all the baseline stuff is if you match fix your promo band and your scum, like, I think it's, I think, I just think it's so just baseline reprehensible.
It's like, also like, I don't know if you saw Schofield's post, it's like, this guy is just like trying his hardest to, you know, and he's been grinding and essay forever.
And this guy, he's played with this guy on teams in the past too, you know? And it's like, you're playing with people you played with for years on different teams throughout different iterations of rosters.
And you just stab them all in the back.
Like, what is that? And even past that, the coach to me is even more nonsense.
Like, I mean, Magoo, like, I think the guy was always bad, but like, you can think of someone's bad and then also not be scum.
