Like the people who like made the Dota game and then they spun it off and then they found that this was a thing that had legs on its own.
R
96:23Rocky HardyHOST
Then he started trying to like produce it.

And just let them build and then let them market their own game and maybe a streamer starts playing it and then all of a sudden, boom.
G
58:24Gengis Ale PennoHOST
I saw this growing up with Warcraft 3 and how Dota just came out of nowhere, right? I was just playing online on the matchmaking and then Dota and then all of a sudden League of Legends and then boom, MOBAs are massive.
G
58:37Gengis Ale PennoHOST
And I just wonder why don't we do more of that? Especially with, and I don't want to get into it right away, but I'm introducing it, is the fact that AI is coming into fold and all of a sudden...
T
58:48Tadhg KellyGUEST

And that's the kind of thing that led to like in World Warcraft three.
J
36:52JamesHOST
that led to Dota, Defense of the Ancients, which became its whole genre in itself.
J
36:57JamesHOST
I just don't know how much resources it took them to put that mode in, the ability to create your own scenarios.
J
37:01JamesHOST
Planet might be sleeping on that potential avenue for allowing people to create the game the way they want, which would just let people...

How Rookie & TheShy Are Shocking EVERYONE
T
49:45ThorinHOST
It's actually a discussion, funnily enough, if you watch the most recent Four Horsemen.
T
49:48ThorinHOST
We had one about Dota and TI, and one of the points that this guy, who's an expert from the LFN network of Dota, SVG, said, is that actually in Dota, thing about this, it's gonna be the same in League and every game I'm aware of, super teams don't tend to work, mate.
T
50:00ThorinHOST
Because when you bring in stars from other teams, they all are the guy in their team.
T

Only have five of them, or three traditional carry roles.

I would say I'm just like trying to find new motivation to play this game I would say I mean I need like a little bit of time probably like five or six months to just like get the hunger of Dota but right now I'm just I feel like I've achieved more than I want more than I wanted So

How Spirit Crushed MOUZ in the Grand Final!
J
138:12Jonatan LundbergHOST
This is related to Falcons, like the question above, but in a different spin.
J
138:18Jonatan LundbergHOST
The other day Falcons disbanded their Dota 2 roster and outright withdrew from the esports as a whole.
J
138:25Jonatan LundbergHOST
According to their statement regarding the withdrawal, which I'll link here, they indirectly attribute it to Dota esports being financially unsustainable.
J
138:38Jonatan LundbergHOST
CS Esports is obviously not in the same boat as Dota, far from it really, but do you guys think this could eventually hit Falcon CS in the future and may eventually lead to them having to downscale the roster by specifically breaking up the star trio? due to the increasing costs of hosting such an expensive roster that they've spent a supposed estimate of nearly 20 million informing on top of ongoing uncertainty as a result of sticker revenue continuing to drop as of now unless it's turned around.
J
139:14Jonatan LundbergHOST
I mean, I think they're okay as long as they have the EWC stuff and plays well within that.
J
139:22Jonatan LundbergHOST
But I'm pretty sure that most organizations have prepared addition to the contracts, which would probably shift player salary depending on how the sticker outcome happens during the next major.
J
139:43Jonatan LundbergHOST
that there's clauses in there that might lower or raise salaries depending on the situation if they don't already have a lower salary now and might get it all back if the stickers kind of go in line with what we were having before so i don't think that I mean, Dota is in such a weird state where there's only one good tournament and then the rest of the year kind of dies.
J
140:16James BanksHOST
So I was going to look at this, right? Dota salaries, as far as I remember, are not as high as...
What We Want in the Patch | The Bear Pit
D
34:42DeathyHOST
And to me, character models do not bring any possibilities, but obviously they are an inevitability, right? Like you need polish in a game like this at some point and character models bring that level of polish.
D
34:54DeathyHOST
However, if we look at Dota, for example, does Morphling have a new model already? No, I don't think so,
R
34:59rkrypticHOST
right? No, they gave him a new persona in the Dark Carnival event, but his model is still...
R
35:07rkrypticHOST
Yeah, so Morphling
6 MINS LATER
R

I think all that stuff has to come before they'll release the game.
R

Because I don't think they would do it with this time around.
R

Dota was different.
