899. LIVE at lululemon SeaWheeze 2026 with Phily Bowden

When you meet someone for the first time, like if you were out tonight bopping around Vancouver and someone said, "Philly, what do you do?"

It's hard.

It's a concoction of things.

I'd probably lead with I'm a runner, and normally they're like, "Good for you.

Me too.

What does that mean?"

[laughs]

Um, and then I kind of explain, elaborate from there and, yeah, kind of talk about all the different hats that I wear, talk about coaching a little bit and I, I sort of boil it down to making videos a- about running.

Mm.

And if Daniel's there, he's like, "Yeah, I just kind of follow her around with a camera."

He's like literally filming.

[laughs]

He's like, "This is it.

We're doing it."

Yeah.

Is that a common question, though? Like, when you...

I know this comes up a lot.

I live in the Northeast in the United States, and so that's always a question we lead with is, "What do you do?" And then you go to Colorado and they're like, "What do you do for fun?" Like, it's such a different way of introducing-

Oh, I like that

... yourself and what comes up.

So I'm curious for you, is that a question that comes up a lot, of like, what do you do, or do you find you lead with, uh, your interest? Do you talk about books first? [laughs]

I do not talk about books-

[laughs]

... unsurprisingly.

I think I'm in a really blessed position where what I do for work is also what I do for fun.
