Well, Chip, to start us off today, Hurricane Isaías continues to intensify, so the National Hurricane Center's latest advisory is expecting it to be a strong hurricane when it approaches the North Gulf Coast on Friday.

The World Weather Inc. has warned that the storm is likely to cause wind damage, flooding, a storm surge, and it's likely to impact South Eastern Louisiana, Southern Mississippi, Southern Alabama, and the far Western-most part of the Florida Panhandle.

Now, cotton in Alabama and Northwestern Florida, Chip, is likely to experience the biggest impact, and we're looking at this from an agricultural perspective.

There has been an excessive rain, um, there has been excessive rain there this week in Southern Georgia, Northern Florida, and South Eastern Alabama, and that's already caused the cotton fiber quality to decline.

The storm is also impacting energy markets, and it's shutting production in the Gulf.
... disruption to the energy supply and, and production of diesel down there on the, on the Gulf Coast.
That'll come rushing into the Midwest if we see any slowdown in diesel production.

And you know, the weather, we're having a pretty good window right now where farmers can actually get in the field.

So it's gonna be interesting to see those effects across the Midwest just for sure.

Well, Chip, the American Meat Producers PAC is launching a $3 million political ad campaign that is targeting candidates who back legislation that oppose Proposition 12.

So although this is a new campaign, you know as well as anyone that this is not a new direction for the American Meat Producers PAC.

They launched another TV campaign to stop the Save Our Bacon Act over in the Senate.

Well, the new ad, it did air last Sunday, and it focused on Representative Ashley Hinson, who's running for Iowa Senate seat.

And Chip, earlier this week, I did speak with David Wasserman with The Cook Political Report, and he mentioned that the two races that are really going to decide the fate of the Senate this year in, uh, less than a month at this point, are Iowa and Kansas.

He says while Republican Senator Roger Marshall is in a vulnerab- vulnerable spot here in Kansas, Republican nominee Ashley Hinson is a stronger nominee and appears to be ahead of her opponent right now.
