This song has such a special meaning for me, especially after the passing of Neil a couple years ago.

Neil wrote it in memory of his friend Robbie Whelan, if you recall, Jar.The words, "Suddenly you were gone from all the lives you left your mark upon," those words are just etched in my brain, and the song is very underrated in my opinion, and Grace Under Pressure is an underrated album.

Steve, what do you got next?

So that was kind of the first time, and we talked about it.

She really enjoyed it.

I said-- You know, and I told her, "Hey, you know, we'll do it again if you want to." She's like, "Oh, yeah, I want to." And I said, "Okay.

Well, next time you come up, um, bring some nice clothes.

We'll go out to dinner." And she was, she was looking at me kind of weird like, "Oh, okay.

Yeah, we'll go out to dinner." So the next time she shows up, the blanket's on the floor, the, the towel is laid there, um, and she's got some nice clothes on 'cause she thinks we're going out to dinner.

Mm-hmm.

You know? Yeah.

I mean, I've heard of it and stuff and, and it was just, you know, uh, kinda out of sight, out of mind.

And, and then Mikey's who hit me up.

He's like, "We should go do this," and I'm like, "I'm down, let's go," you know? And I just wanna run miles anyway, so we, yeah, we ripped out to Phoenix and, you know, met up with the FXR Division boys and, you know, um, and, and had a lot of fun out there.

And, and then we, uh, we ripped back on, on Saturday night and froze our asses off, you know, for 200 miles, you know.

If, if you think you love motorcycles, I challenge you to go do a ride where you do not have the right gear, [laughs] you know? Like, go freeze your ass off for a few hundred miles and then see if you still wanna ride the next day because that's, that's the biggest, uh...

I've just heard this term that, like, there's two types of people.

There's through time people, thinkers, and in time thinkers.

And through time, like, kinda consider consequences.

They think about what's, what's the long game, and there's certain people that are just making decisions in time, and Phil's definitely an in time.

... she can be in a room with, like, complete stran- w- me and her went to Ireland after our, um, after our Europe trip last time and stayed with some of my friends, and it was just like, she can just hold a room no matter where she's at, and it's just like she's w- kind of wise beyond her years.

So I really-

... that you never hear stories from anyone else, and it's like, what the hell was that?

Oh, man.

Um, I used to see orbs at my wife's grandmother's house, and I've, I have two witnesses that would, they would attest to it probably if I could get them on the show.

But, um, I, well, before me and my wife bought our first house, we were young, and, um, we lived with her grandmother in a totally separate side of the house.

You know, like, her grandparents were like the Archie Bunker type, um, that, you know, one lived at one end of the house, and the other lived at the other end of the house.

So after the husband passed away, you know, we kind of moved in with her for just a little while to, you know, just to get ready to buy a house.

Grainger, for the ones who get it done.

But when she goes up to that room, Steve, and you're sitting there downstairs caged, what's going through your mind?

Oh, I just got like butterflies.

I'm kinda giddy.

I'm like, "Oh, I wonder what, wonder what's gonna happen.

I hope she has a fun time.

I hope she comes down and tells me all about it, and I hope she, it, this doesn't, it's not gonna be a, a night ruiner." Um, it was a, a fantastic time 'cause we have had, you know, threesomes and like that and the stuff in the past.

And I've had performance anxiety anyway, so I really wasn't involved anyway.

Would it be helpful if we brainstorm more ideas now, ideas together here? Or is it more, like, I don't know, or I don't have ideas, or is it more like maybe I just gotta try it and then see what comes?

Most of my stuff revolves getting stuff done.

Some branching into just creativity stuff is less, "Oh, dear me, I need to work on that.

[laughs] Newcomers of the year, who have you been following that's around that top 30, outside of that top 30? Um, I bet we're gonna say the exact same for the men's.

Hard to not acknowledge him.

He won Marrakech a few weeks back, an ATP 250.

Um, semi'd in, uh, Madrid.

Um, his having a, had a great week in Rome, just lost to Darderi in the quarters.

Um, out of nowhere, this man has went from, what, like 99 in the world to I think he's currently 34 in the world.

How have things been? Well, for the sake of our listeners, that is.

Well, let me see.

Uh, we've had a fair bit of stress and a fair few busyness things, and so that's made things a little more [laughs] complicated for us.

Um, but we're practicing the stuff you've talked about.

I'm practicing working on being supportive of Peggy and, uh, doing whatever level of intimacy or flirting or whatnot that is good for her.

And I'm working on when I need to calming the heck down, as you say, and learning to manage without, uh, using Peggy.

Um-

When the intensity gets more, she starts focusing on that, which I'm thrilled about because I'm like, "Yes, let's make sure that you have lots of pleasure." And I mean, she retracts, but just to focus on that.

Steve, what have you been up to hobby-wise?

Uh, I've been doing quite a lot of, um, modeling, uh, which is most unlike me 'cause I tend to do little bits here and there.

But, uh, I'm, I'm willing to, um, building my, uh, next OO9 layout, which, um, I seem to be quite prolific at, at the moment.

But, uh, yeah, I got the track laid, um, wired up.

Um, I've...

this weekend I've painted it, and, uh, got that all, um, nicely sort of detailed.

And, uh, I completely didn't follow, um, James' advice around Peco OO9 set track points, um, because, yes, they can be, let's just say finicky, because they've got a frog bigger than the, um, English Channel.

Nice.

But is that true? I- is it just the fuel burn on these TBMs in particular, just, uh, phenomenal, just super efficient aircraft when it comes to this type?

The, the, is that the thing, Steve, as it's just one engine instead of multiple engines.

It's got a big propeller on the front, and doesn't take a lot to maintain one engine versus two.

Yeah, that helps for sure.

Full load, go into a short strip.

Don't have to worry about runway conditions.

Brand new, they have a five-year warranty and a five-year maintenance program.

So early on it's the, it's the cost of fuel.

I mean, for the most part, we didn't have really...

I mean, we had varying stresses from the break and Christmas and holidays and all that, but manageable.

Yeah, there was that one time where I was taking everything wrong and then, you know, got out of my own head.

Not an easy thing for something that empty.

But, um-

What would it be like from her perspective if you came to her with the energy that you're coming with in those moments?

I mean, we talked about it.

If she came to me with that need or whatever, um, usually when Peggy has a hard time, I will be very glad to have some way of fixing it.

Um, you know, so I, you know, "Okay, kids, pretend mom's not here.

Come to me.

Um, here, honey, I'll make ...

I'll finish dinner.

Yeah, yeah.

... is the fact that we were able to get that to happen.

Um, and, and then, you know, like you said, you were born into this as hunters, so terminal performance was our, our guiding principle from the start of why we wanted to make a bullet.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, it wasn't because we thought there was accuracy deficiencies in the market, or, you know, we didn't wanna make a bullet because of lead versus copper issues.

We were just looking for terminal performance that made our, our animals that we were hunting, um, harvested nice and clean and quick without ruining the meat.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

What kind of things are you actually doing to keep them entertained? I mean, you can't exactly play tiddlywinks on an airplane.

airplane.So we're, we're, my one son and I were playing a card game, managing on a, on a, one of the tray tables there, and I, I think the other one was coloring.

Well, it was, it was an attempt for about, you know, maybe we'll get 30 or 40 minutes into the flight, um, and then we will be watching something.

I, I, I would say th- they, they already, they already want Mom more anyways, so I don't think that would be that different from the r- reality I live in.

So yeah, in the meantime, Lane loves to be outside with us.

So he was kind of had come with us just to see her head out and all that.

And so we, so after she left, I was like, this is not good.

Like I don't, we didn't talk about it.

Who you are, if people might not have ever heard of you.

Yeah, so I, um, uh, got interested in, uh, political matters, um, 30 years ago or something like that.

A friend got me interested in libertarian ideas, and then I, I just kinda kept digging from there, reading history, reading political philosophy, legal philosophy.

I mean, all kinds of stuff, right? And then eventually...

And I was writing articles back then, but then I had eight children.

That's the thing everybody needs to know about me.

[laughs]

I, I, I grew up in a Christian Zionist church.

But what is it about sex with your wife that makes it hard for you to let loose yourself and to have fun?

Right now, a lot of things are very challenging for Peggy when it comes to sex.

And if I wanna let loose, well, there's only so much I can do on my own that's not going to be mutual and would require her to step outside of her comfort zone.

Right now, I- I'm trying to make sure that she is comfortable, because if you're [chuckles] not comfortable, you're not really gonna have fun.

Um, so I'm being a bit more controlled.

I'm trying to control myself more so that she is in a s- feeling in a safe place.

I mean, if you wanna just disregard the, you know, time and busyness and life being crazy and no time to think about how I would like to, you know, woo and seduce my wife, when I do find time, you know, I try to come up with stuff and, you know, even if it's just, you know, putting the heater in the bedroom so it's a little extra warm in there, and turning the lights on and, uh, or, um, like, uh, uh-

But Steve-O, let's start with you and your opinions on Loudness on the pool stage.

Okay.

In between Black and Blue and Loudness, I ran to the cabin real quick.

I, I literally just missed the first song, which they did Crazy Nights, like, their well-known song, first.

So, uh, by the time I got there, they had just played that, and they sounded good.

Akira is just a, an amazing guitar player.

The one thing that I found interesting about the show, I'll, I'll get to that in a second, but like, as the show went along, there was less and less people there because they already played their hit.

Fun.

After that reading, I was just kinda sitting here, and I could feel my body start shrinking, shrinking down, just really slow and subtly, and it was just like fear entering my body and then started making the connection with, uh-

uh-That same feeling that I had hundreds and hundreds of times as a child when something was obviously about to go off.

And, uh, I wrote something down that I thought was important, but I didn't realize that that's what was, um, actually causing it.

And there was something in the reading that said, "You're mourning a life that you actually thought was real." And two things come to mind.

When my relationship ended, the-- within the first week, I, I remember sa- living each day going like-- feeling like it wasn't n- nothing was real.

It was like, "What the fuck just happened?" Like, I don't know what's [laughs] had this imaginary future plan that's just gone, the blink of an eye.

And it was probably about a week later that I went over to stop by my mom's, 'cause of course she lured us over there by buying my daughter something.

... watched, kinda learned how the pieces move, but I moved around so much, I didn't have the opportunity to really rest.

So when I became an adult, my life got really stressful, 'cause I chose to be a chef.

Discovered actual playing chess and the meaning of chess and all the ins and outs about two years ago.And I jumped in headfirst.

I was at work one day, a student playing chess, and I was like, "Okay, let's try it." I found somebody that was looking for a chess coach.

Okay.

It was pretty advanced, but I think it really helped.

Like, that first two chapters really kind of helped with the understanding of chess.
