yeah it's look exciting times exciting times and we are about to hop into the week in gaming news This week in gaming news, let's kick off with the Steam age restrictions kicking in.
So this actually started happening about a week ago.
Australian gamers have found that they need to verify their age in order to purchase are 18 plus games such as Doom Eternal and Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam.
Users are met by the following message.
Valve is required by the AIDS restricted material app distribution services code to verify that you are 18 or older before accessing mature content.
If you wish to do so, please add a valid Australian credit card to your account and afterwards update the mature content preferences.
Now, some people have found a bit of a workaround that has only really worked for a handful of people.
But I don't know about you two, but I don't have a credit card.
Do you?
LAUGHTER No, yeah, it's one of those things that is very easy to forget actually affects a lot of people.
Yeah.
Because I read that and I'm like, yeah, it makes sense.
You could use a credit card to pay for stuff anyway.
But yeah, there's a lot of people out there who just aren't ready for that sort of stuff or they don't like having their card on there or for whatever reason.
Yeah, I mean, it's specifically like, not so much that they won't accept debit cards, which is a tad bit frustrating.
There's been a few people who have written very passionate letters towards the Steam support team, asking for a bit of clarification or perhaps a little bit of, I don't know, wiggle room, because, you know, not everyone has a credit card.
So, not my favourite thing.
And it's...
I think they should run this back and also give us an apology and give us a game for free.
Yeah.
I think that's the
only right thing to do.
An R18 Plus game.
