So Carrie opens the episode with Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Sam opening letters and they're invitations.

And Carrie's voiceover says, "Sometimes there's nothing harder in life than being happy for someone else." She talks about really successful people who are 27 and [laughs] different kinds of, uh, people that it's, like, hard to be happy for them.

And then she says, "There's a special kind of hell on Earth that only your closest friends can inflict on you, the baby shower." And so they're all opening invitations to this baby shower.

Then we cut to a scene where they're all watching TV in Carrie's bed, which was so cute, and also I'm like, logistically, I don't know how this would work, 'cause her TV is, like, so far and small from the bed.

Like, uh, those friends who you just, like, can watch TV with and, like, uh, do laundry with, and, like, those friendships are so special.

And my friend Melissa too, 'cause, like, our favorite things are watching TV, and it's just, like, it's fun to have those friendships.

So anyway, they're all in Carrie's bed watching TV, and they're kind of talking about how all of them have been summoned to this baby shower and their different feelings about it.

Miranda's like, "I think it's bullshit." Charlotte is like, "I think it's really cute." Um, Samantha says, "Frankly, I think it's sad the way she's using a child to validate her existence." And Carrie says, "Exactly.

Why can't she just use sex and cocktails like the rest of us?" Also, Carrie's, um, lipstick in this episode, like, in that scene, is amazing.

This episode feels really different from other episodes because they actually spend about half of the episode in Connecticut, um, at the baby shower, and there's no ...

There's some men in this episode, but there's no, like, love interest in this episode.

So this episode feels really different than previous ones and ones that we see after, where they're kind of running around Manhattan together.

Carrie says, "Is it just baby showers in general, or do you guys think it's worse because it's Laney's?" And so the baby shower that they were invited to is their friend Laney's baby shower, and they all kind of give her this look, and then it flashes back to eight years ago.

Um, it sounds like she worked for a record label and had sex with the bands and the artists, and she was kind of this, like, crazy, wild party girl.

And, you know, Samantha's very much, like, loves attention, and it just seems like her and Laney have this friction because they're both wanting to be the center of attention in the room.
