Today, we're catching up with the two lovely ladies behind the excellent Midwest Hasta Visit 2.0, also known as Hasta Road Trippers.

We're here with Julie Luter and Susan Ragsdale, the original hosta road warriors who have traveled for days around the Midwest visiting some of the most iconic hosta gardens and nurseries the U.S. has to offer.

Join us as we catch up with Julie and Susan to reflect on their second road trip across the U.S., all in the name of hostas.

which is a sobering thought for me as an adult.

But what that means is that they're thinking about that moment of independence where they get their license.

They're thinking about what it means to have a car, what it means to go on their own road trip, perhaps.

And they're really thinking about the world they're inheriting.

So, Joy, let's go through some of our listener trips that were submitted.

So let's start first with Road Trip and Connect.

Shout out to my friend Sierra.

She submitted this one.

But Norway is on my list.

Especially after we did our episode where you talked about it.

If you've not listened to that episode from last season, you guys, Michelle's epic Norway road trip is such a great episode.

I think we laughed so much during that episode just about life living in a RV or a camper van.

No balls, two strikes.

Yankees have an important road trip coming up.

They go to California, Oakland, and Baltimore.

Four games in Baltimore, first part of September.

Relax or else.

It's the war cry of the family road trip.

And honestly, whether you are in a 1936 Plymouth or a 2024 luxury SUV with climate control and noise-canceling headphones, that underlying friction of forced proximity hasn't changed a bit.

We have all been in that car.

We have all felt that tension.

We really have.

But, you know, the road trip is only the first hurdle.

If we follow the logical progression of the vacation, the road is about physical survival.

Uh, and I think I bought a motorcycle.

I bought a Bandit 600 maybe six months later, and then a couple months after that, did a road trip from Massachusetts to Key West and just sort of, like, went whole hog into motorcycles again after that.

But it was really, to answer your question directly, it was just a void.

It was just a void that got filled by other things.

And as I said, I'd had a, I bought a Bandit 600.

I'd already ridden it to Key West.

I think it was, like, a 2,000-mile road trip, and so it was ...
