Nick Kostos is joined by Audacy NFL Insider Brian Baldinger to talk all things Week 6 in the NFL.
Baldy, one thing we didn't talk about yet on the Best Football Show podcast this week, um, this story kind of rose to prominence yesterday as former Steelers coach Mike Tomlin does an appearance on Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce's podcast where he's kind of panning players-only meetings after a report came out acknowledged by Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer that the Cowboys defense had a players-only meeting.
So like A, what do you think of the players-only meeting? Like is it a good thing? Is it a bad thing? And B, your thoughts on the Cowboys defense heading into Sunday night at Lambeau against Green Bay.
If you're having team me- if you're having team meetings, you're in trouble, and they never solve anything.
A bunch of guys get up and talk and say, "We gotta do this and do that," and they know what they gotta do.
Like I've, I've been in my share of them, but your team is never in trouble short- until you start having meetings.
Like, you can turn on any game this year, they have a hard time stopping the run.
You know, last year, last week, Thursday night, they're playing a quarterback, Jalen Walker, making his first start.
I mean, honestly, that's the best game that, you know, that running back has, has ever had in this whole league.
Uh, in, in the three years he's been in the league, that was the best game he ever had.
And so the tackling is an issue, rushing the quarterback is an issue, covering receivers is an issue.
You can change defensive coordinators, you can add all these new pieces, and maybe Joey Poor Jr. out there at corner will be better than DaRon Bland or whoever's out there, uh, Shavon Rev- Revell, but, like, they're just not a good defense.
