Well, Look, nadam, which means regret, definitely it's an instinct, and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala designed every human being with the capability of feeling that way.
Even those who arrogantly deny, but deep down among themselves probably maybe they do feel that regretful moment for something that they felt maybe they shouldn't have done that or said that.
But in order for nadam to become regretful, I would say to activate an action, it has to develop that knowledge.
Like in order for that nadam to move into action, regret to move into action, you have to have that knowledge that this nadam, this regret, knowing that because of what I've done, I have built a barrier between me and my beloved Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, so I'm not enjoying anything.
I'm not enjoying my food, not enjoying my time, not enjoying anything because I just feel so ashamed of the wrong that I've done that embarrassed myself before my Lord, subhanahu wa ta'ala.
If Nadam can develop that type of knowledge, definitely, that's what it moves into action and that's what we're looking for, inshallah ta'ala.
So in case of missed salah, for a few years of maybe irregularities, is it best to try to make them up by praying Nawafil in Mecca or Medina as it counts 100,000, masha'Allah? Like somebody wants to go to Umrah and just one shot, pray all the missed salawat in one day, Allahu Akbar, we're done.
But when you do it in Mecca or Medina in the form of an afl, the reward for each is higher.
