Errol and the fine people at Soap Opera Network do not have the rest of the September numbers yet.
So when they get them and they publish them, we'll talk about it on this show 'cause I am very intrigued to see how the month ended for both "Beyond the Gates" and "General Hospital." But in soap media news, I will shout out one Michael Fairman for interviewing Tabian Ali recently on YouTube about her many storylines over the past couple of years that have been very hit or miss as she's now entering her singer era and storyline on GH.
And even though I'm not a big fan of this arc, I will say that I'm very happy that Tabby gets to share her art with the world because if you're gonna do the storyline, at least have the autonomy to say, "Hey, I would like to infuse parts of myself into this story by pitching some poems and songs that I wrote that I can definitely add to the story to make it pop." Because as we know, GH will give you generic track number five for you to make some magic happen.
Mm-hmm.
So if there's one shining light, if there is one solace I have, it is that Tabby gets to showcase her abilities as a songwriter and singer.
Otherwise, I would be tapped out on this storyline because Historically speaking, singing storylines tend to suck
Yeah.
I, I also have to shout out Michael Fairman for taking the time to sit down and, and chat with Tabiana on his, uh, on his channel, because as we've been saying on this show, like it's been months since anybody from a soap opera digest has even paid Tabiana a semblance of attention on th- their, you know, when they do their, their press with anybody from GH, and that's unfortunate.
Like they, they just came to a dead stop for whatever reason.
They just like, they just seem to have lost interest in, in, uh, interviewing her about anything that's going on with her character.
'Cause we've talked about it so many times about how they could have interviewed her when she, um, when she and Kai were in the house when Drew, you know, when Drew, when Drew got popped by Willow, like, and then, you know, and basically trying to figure out like where they were gonna go from there with that storyline.
Like even which, you know, which I g- I, I was not a fan of it.
Like the, they didn't even talk to her, you know, after Kai blurted out that he loved her when they had that argument, when he confessed about what he did by telling, um, by telling on her parents.
Like telling Drew what her parents were gonna be doing to try to bring him down.
Like not even talking about the, you know, like, you know, like you said as of late, like the switch up with her career.
Like not talking to her about like how did y- how did Trina go from being a, a, you know, working in the art world to being a singer and like, you know, how did this storyline come about? Like nothing like that or, you know, like just so there's been so, there's been s- so many wasted opportunities for them to have a, for them to have a s- a conversation with her.
And it was, it was actually funny to s- uh, to watch Michael Fairman's interview with Tabiana because as I was watching it, the thing that I kept thinking about when I was looking at it was just like the, like the, the timeframe of it 'cause it was a 45, it was a f- like basically like a 45-minute interview that he was having with her, and I felt like he was literally doing a rundown of every single storyline that she's had that Soap Opera Digest skipped out on trying to sit down and talk to her about.
Like it was literally like he just was like s- doing like rapid fire, like spouting off all the different things that she's been, you know, that she's been up to.
But it was a, it was a good conversation and, um, like, you know, just hearing how she, how, how the singing storyline came about was i- was interesting and, you know, as you said, like i- if they're going to do it, then why not involve Tabiana in the decisions for the creative aspect of it? Like why shouldn't she be allowed to pitch things that she's coming up with? Like why shouldn't she be allowed to share poems that she's working on and ask like, "Hey, like how can we take this poem that I wrote and turn it into a song for Trina?" She should be allowed to do that because, uh, you know, 'cause the thing is she's, she is playing that character and it is, you know, we, we, as we watch like movies and other TV shows, we have seen tons and tons of, you know, actors and actresses where they will sit and they'll do interviews and talk about how they were able to add a little bit of themselves into a character that, that they're playing.
So it only makes sense that for Tabiana to be, you know, working on her singing like she is, for them to give her the, you know, that opportunity to be able to say like, "Hey, can we do it like this? Can I, you know, can I sing this song? Can I, you know, can I do this with, you know, with, with Trina and her singing arc?" So it was im- it was important to get to hear her and then I also appreciated that he, you know, asked her about like, you know, the stalker storyline, which, you know, we've, we, you and I have complained about already the, how slow it's going.
But like just like getting to hear what his, you know, I, I mean what, you know, what her thoughts are on who it could be.
Like I, that, that was one of the moments that I enjoyed when she did like her, you know, her theories and how she said that she thinks, you know how she said everybody at, you know, seems to know who the ar- the stalker is but her.
Like everybody knows who it is, but she doesn't.
