[sighs] Sad that they can't find a network for this, but I, it, and, and also to me, I feel like when th- them struggling to find a network for it, it, it kind of like, it kind of feeds into that stereotype where people wanna just constantly say, "Well, soaps are a dying genre, so nobody really is tuning in, and so why would anybody wanna see the Daytime Emmys and, you know, watch that kind of stuff?" But it's like, it's not just soap operas that are being, you know, awarded.
It's also for people who sit up there and like to watch like the talk shows and things like that.
They have that kind of stuff in there too.
So it's like, it's not just about soap operas, but you know.
I guess, I guess we're in a situation too where people have just kind of like reached a state of burnout when it comes to award shows.
Like honestly for me, I feel like, I feel like with everything that happened with COVID and, you know, like-
...
the slowdown in things, I think it kinda made people feel like, "I don't really need to watch this." Like, "I don't really need to support this." 'Cause I kinda fell off of my award show watching myself and I, I, I got to a point where I was just like, "Why should I care?" Like, I'm not gonna, you know, I'm not gonna, you know, lie.
I did feel like that for a short time being like, "Who cares?" You know? But, uh, but obviously there's reason to be excited about the Daytime Emmys this go around, so yeah, I'll be tuning in again.
[chuckles]
But we watched it for y'all, and hopefully this year it will be at a different venue, the Hollywood Palladium, so that helps hopefully in terms of atmosphere and vibes that it will be like a more laid back, chill atmosphere that's gonna feel more like a celebration and party versus what we got last year, which was stale and stagnant, and they were zipping through categories to get done in two hours.
They will probably do that again to get through the ceremony in at least two and a half hours.
