And I think about the week that Beyond the Gates had in June, specifically the tornado and the aftermath and GH.
But Jasmine and I took a stand inspired by the Odyssey and we made the decision not to watch GH all last week.
And it seems like the week was great for GH and they will be rewarded for it with good numbers when they come out after the 4th of July.
But for us, when you don't have Black Hospital featured in your spoilers for the entire week, you're basically telling your audience, well, tune in at 2.58 p.m. Eastern or Pacific time and find out whether or not you'll see Black people online.
on the episode for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, that's the message being sent that Black stories this week didn't matter at all because we have to close out all these other stories we've been dragging out for months and months and months, in some cases years, And now there's a resolution that will bring back Black Hospital this week with the same tired stories we've been seeing from them for months.
And you think about the writing imbalance of what some people get versus Black Hospital.
Yeah, what Keela said, because we definitely made a group decision on whether or not we were going to watch the show last week.
And I got to tell you that it was an easy decision for us to say we were going to sit this one out last week.
And, you know, as Keela said, we were keeping up with the recap.
So we knew, you know, what was going on with the show.
But as you know, as you mentioned, like seeing the fact that there were no black people watching involved in this the entire week was really sad.
It was a really sad and depressing thing to look at because as you pointed out, that was basically the mindset that I had when I was thinking about how the black people weren't even acknowledged or mentioned in the spoilers.
And then you don't see them in the episode.
I actually had that exact thought where I was like, well, this is just GH's way of reminding us that, Hey, you know, just in case you were wondering the black characters on this show don't mean much.
They don't matter.
They're just here.
They're just here to fill the space while we're working on the bigger storylines for their white counterparts.
So, you know, when you get these little, these little things here, Just know this is just because we're working on the other big stuff for them behind the scenes.
And this stuff doesn't really matter much.
Because if it did matter, they would be giving them much more to do.
Because as we've said before...
