The final round of this year’s Life Time Grand Prix saw several upsets in the pro field, including Stella Hobbs’ win in a breakaway. She joins Payson from her home in Whitefish, Montana, to talk about…
Hey Payson, Chris here.
And oh man, what a weekend and what a race.
A couple of highlights just include getting to meet you at Onyx and hearing some pro tips on the day and how to make the event the best possible.
It was nice to have decent legs and no mechanicals.
And then getting to see my wife in the feed zone is just always such a delight.
She is such a rock star running feed for the team.
So good.
Also, just rolling back into town and getting to see everybody there, feeling like we're a part of it all.
Hi, Payson.
I did the Little Sugar 50K mountain bike race.
This was my second year heading over there to do it.
And I feel like I learned some lessons after my first year.
I trained a little bit more, so I felt more confident going into it.
And then I also started up a little bit closer to the start line, which I think really helped avoid some of the bottlenecks that I experienced the previous year.
And it just felt really good to be able to actually ride a lot more of the race this year.
I didn't go into it with any expectations of any particular speed or placing or anything.
I just wanted it to be fun and kind of have it be like a reward for the training that I put into it.
It definitely was.
I got through it.
It felt pretty good.
It was hot, but no mechanicals, no crashes or anything like that.
So it was great just finishing it and feeling good and feeling proud of myself.
