John WardleHostBradHostJakeHostYeah, one thing I want to touch on is at the start when you introduce yourself, you had talked about bringing high-speed rail to your district because you want to tap into the economy of these huge metropolises that are within hours of you.
The common thought process amongst people that are uneducated about the DSA is is that you you aren't interested in growing the economy that's not you know it stifles jobs and that's like a common misconception of the dsa but you very clearly stated as one of your your main goals is to actually tap into the economic growth in cities around you to help your district prosper and i just kind of wanted to make sure you you know you got um to really drive that point home that that's that's what you're trying to do is make your community better um in progressive ways.
Like progress is the future.
Progress is how we actually take care of the working class.
I have to prove capable of doing so, which means I have to prove, improve the economy here for people to trust the next person up.
Now, the same thing if I was doing nonprofit work or I was doing protesting and organizing outside of the electoral system, I have to do what I say and I have to prove some type of result.
Now, that does put me in conflict sometimes with other folks who are anti-electoralism.
But at the same time, that's not my current sphere of influence that I'm working
on.
Just the same way we need organizers in the educational parts and areas and arenas, we also need folks willing to run for office.
Because what ends up happening in a lot of cases is we just don't have community members doing things because they don't know it's a real possibility to do it.
And then you have folks that have two houses that run for these offices, and then it turns into, hmm, What do you mean you people need a higher minimum wage? Just sell your second house.
That's something else I found out recently is I'd be one of only like five people out of 105 in the state legislature that did not walk in with a $100,000 job or a house paid
