Like one of our assignments involved like reading the New Yorker and finding a story that we wanted to talk about in the New Yorker.

And I was, this was, I mean, I hate admitting my age, but like, I mean, this was, this was in a suburb of Youngstown, Ohio in the early nineties.

Um, they, there were not a lot of New Yorkers inscriptions to Austin town, Ohio.

Um, I can tell you that.

And, um, but B between, and so I was like reading the New Yorker at 17 and, um, and just remember like thinking like, Oh, this world.

And I was in debate in high school and that, brought me, um, uh, I traveled to nationals and like was doing things that again, most people in, in Youngstown, Ohio weren't doing.

Um, and then I was also in drama and that sort of started the, the theater world.

And so I, I sort of before, um, Before I had left high school, I sort of had this trifecta of theater arts and in-depth...

Nearly six months after Dulce disappeared, the investigation took a very unexpected turn when several mysterious handwritten letters began appearing in northeastern Ohio.

In late February and early March of 2020, three letters or index cards connected to Dulce's case were received at separate locations in the Mahoning Valley area near Youngstown.

These locations included the Austintown Library, the Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Racecourse, basically a casino, and Jesse's Dairy Cove, which was just a local ice cream shop.

Police believed the handwriting on all three of these messages appeared very similar and were likely sent by the same person.

The letters remained strange because someone deliberately selected multiple locations in the same area of Ohio and repeatedly referenced Dulce, a missing five-year-old girl from New Jersey.

But nothing in the letters reportedly contained information known only to investigators.

The designated wooded area produced no evidence and no verified connection between Dulce or her family and the Mahoning Valley, the Youngstown, Ohio area, had ever been publicly established.

Authorities believe all the information that was ever included in those correspondences, any of the information that made sense anyhow, was easily obtained through a Google search.

yeah i think the embarrassment level is more at a risk whenever it is an in-state opponent i feel like if it's a random fcs team say illinois uh played youngstown state out of ohio and youngstown state somehow won that game I don't feel like that embarrassment level is there in terms of local media.

or Chicago media getting a hold of that story and running with it.

But say hypothetically, Illinois does lose this game to SIU, or if they were to play an ISU in basketball or football and they do lose that game, it just is more localized.
