Episode 16: One Step Ahead

So what do you think is the most important program you guys offer right now?

I'd have to say all of them.

I mean, there's not a single one because all of them play a different role and are in an important role.

Like our business trespass programs gives those business owners.

Talk about that because people don't know.

You have a lot of new businesses that have opened up over the years.

Maybe they don't know about the business trespass.

What does that provide them?

That is a great program.

So it gives them the ability to sign an agreement with us where deputies, when they had closed and there's no one on the property, that we can go on the property.

If we detect some abnormal behavior, we can take enforcement action for them.

So we don't have to call the property owner out in the middle of the night.

We can take care of that right then and there.

And we give them signs that actually they can post on their property.

It works as a deterrent to let people know that, hey, deputies can take action when you're not here.

And it gives them a peace of mind knowing that someone's going to be looking out for them and be able to do something when they're not there.

And those are those green signs that you see on the corner of a building.

Yeah, I tell people, especially when I teach at Citizens Academy, I'm like, you go out, you go to shopping plazas, just look for those green signs.

And you'll see them.

There's a lot of them out there, but it's a great tool.

And the businesses absolutely love it.

And something easy for a business owner to sign up for.

Yes.

They just complete the paperwork.

We give them the signs.
