do it, so I'm not taking any credit.
21:17
So all I did is I met with my staff.
21:19
I said, hey, this is the idea the sheriff wants.
21:23
Give me your ideas on how you want it to work.
21:25
And that's where we came up with this program.
21:26
It's two Saturdays of every quarter.
21:28
We'll take a group of kids.
22:49
Yeah, they won't let us do
10:00
How feasible do you think that is, um, to execute something like that?
10:06
Um, it's not easy to do, but it's worth doing, and therefore it is feasible if the results are better.
10:12
Uh, the, the...
10:15
Again, I, I find that, um, a lot of the healthcare debate is whether Kmart is better than Target.
10:24
The real question is, is Amazon better than Kmart and Target? Who's gonna build a system that is consumer-driven, consumer-friendly, less expensive and more convenient? And if it's in- if it's an independent player, I think that player is gonna win.
10:42
If it's a player that's embedded in big providers or big carriers, I think that system is gonna win.
10:48
It's less about what the ownership structure looks like and more about what the objectives of the organization are.
12:41
Are there any concerns you're hearing from employers in your recent discussions with them that you wanna bring up, whether it's about, you know, kind of that consumer push for more direct access, um, anything similar to that that has kind of been dominating your conversations lately?

1:00
But before we, we dive into those, Rob, can you just tell us a little about your, your background and your career journey?
1:06
Well, I had the honor of serving in the US House of Representatives, uh, for about 25 years, uh, during which by the time the Affordable Care Act was enacted, and I was privileged to be a part of that, uh, representing a district in New Jersey.
1:22
When, when I left the Congress, I started practicing law and was given the chance to represent a group of companies that were interested in binding together to form what became the HTA, which is a group that combines the data and the purchasing power and the experience and judgment of a lot of major American companies.
1:46
Uh, we're now up to over 80 companies, and our, our job really is to look for the highest value care, uh, not the cheapest care, but the highest value care that produce the best results.
1:58
So I've had a chance to experience healthcare as a, as a dad, you know, as a parent, as now as a grandparent, uh, as a public servant legislator, and now as someone, uh, helping to lead the HTA.
2:14
So I feel very blessed.

8 MINS LATER

10:40
Uh, yes.
10:41
Yeah.
