There are a couple letters to the editor.

Why isn't the Erie County Sheriff joining the 15 other New York sheriffs who are suing Governor Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James over the state's restrictions on local law enforcement cooperating with ICE? This is extremely concerning.

Local law enforcement should have the ability to cooperate with federal authorities when it involves protecting our communities and removing individuals who have committed serious crimes.

Why should the governor restrict that cooperation if someone has been convicted of rape, murder, robbery, or other serious crimes and is subject to federal immigration enforcement? Why should local law enforcement be prevented from working with ICE to help keep the individuals from returning to our communities? Public safety should come before politics.

If all that was standing between this violent and dangerous man and society was my group of prosecutors and investigators, we had a big responsibility to make sure we got it done right.

Almost three decades earlier, in 1966, the Everman, Texas, Sheriff's Department responded to the scene of a terrible crime.

A local farmer had discovered the bodies of two young boys in the trunk of an abandoned car.

the local sheriff was baffled by the execution-style murders.

That same morning, 100 miles away in the small town of Rosebud, a distraught young man surrendered to the local sheriff.

His name was Roy Dale Green, and he said he had to make a confession.

Green told Rosebud Sheriff Brady Pamplin that all three youngsters had been kidnapped and tortured by a local bully named Kenneth McDuff.

It was not the first time Sheriff Pamplin had heard McDuff's name.

Uh, that means they're sheriff's cars.

Uh, s- It looks like they outnumber the Sac PD cars rather substantially.

So I'm sensing this is probably something that emanated from the sheriff's jurisdiction, wound up on, uh, on the 50 freeway.

Uh, there's an armored car in place.

It looks as though the, uh, the violator, the bad guy's vehicle is stopped and, uh, surrounded by law enforcement.

So, uh, again, I don't, um, I don't have the ability to Confirm that, but I'd say I see a Mini Cooper that seems to be the, uh, the center of the attention, law enforcement activity on Highway 50, and, uh, all of this seems, uh, very consistent.

And that would put it, uh, again, that Howe Avenue location would put it, uh, in the sheriff's jurisdiction.

The pursuit was terminated when visual contact with the vehicle ended.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office was notified.

Hit and run.

A 65-year-old female from Chaffey reported to be the victim of a hit and run following an accident that occurred on Buffalo Road at 6 p.m. Friday, August 7th.

All paperwork was submitted to the Aurora Town Court.

So 1983, the band Sheriff from Toronto releases a song called When I'm With You.

Written by Arnold Lanny and lead singer Freddie Kersey.

They record it in 82, release it in 83, and away it goes with kind of a thud.

So the song debuts in 1983 from Sheriff.

It doesn't do anything.

And a lot of times that results in the American people being shot or killed or SWAT coming in, or as they say at Friday night lights in the FBI, like what they did to Tim Brown.
