Manatee County Sheriff's Office

We've had some scheduling conflicts, but, uh, we're here, and I'm very excited to have, uh, uh, Captain Kerry Chapman from our training, uh, division here.

A, a lot goes into what he does for, uh, the deputies here at Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

So we really just wanna touch on everything that he's responsible for.

And, and Kerry, welcome.

It's submitted, it's submitted already, so.

So as we kinda wrap up here, Kerry, I mean, there's so much that we could cover even more.

Looking back on your career a- a- and your time as a captain over a very, uh, critical unit for the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, if you're looking at training, what, what do you think has been added to training now that you and I didn't have, uh, that you think is, was probably one of the most important, uh, pieces, uh, uh, of training that, you know, we w- that we should have had when we were coming up?

Well, I think, uh, the, uh, technology is the, is the, the best thing, right? It, it's great when it works.

[laughs]

Yeah, so after I, after I make this presentation to the Manatee County Sheriff, uh, to give, to, to buy them $14,000 worth of, of bulletproof and knife-proof vests for their canines, then they put me in this suit, you know, that they train these dogs in.

That's what you get for a bonus?

Yeah.

This could end...

I just want the media to know this could end...

After, uh, donating $14,000 for ballistic vests for the K9s of Manatee County Sheriff's Department, uh, Bubba, uh, Office, Bubba worked with a K9.

Got really bad.
