The random resort picker has spoken again, and this week we're heading to the Value Resort category with Disney's Pop Century Resort! Pop Century may be a Value Resort, but it has one major advantage…
For the resort snapshot, this is a value resort.
It is located in the Hourglass Lake Resort area.
It opened December 14th of 2003.
It has approximately 2,880 rooms.
So if you listen to last week's episode about Port Orleans French Quarter, this is almost three times the amount of rooms.
Wasn't Riviera like 500 rooms or something?
Yeah.
So this has these rooms spread across 10 buildings.
They have four different floors.
So even though it's 10 buildings, each building is like a giant T and has like different wings.
So it is large.
As far as transportation, you have Skyliner to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, and then bus to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs.
There are no suites here.
This does not sleep five.
So Disney's Pop Century Resort celebrates The memorable fads, trends, toys, and pop culture moments of the 50s through the 90s.
It is one of Disney's most popular value resorts because it combines affordable pricing with the major transportation advantage of the Disney Skyliner access.
Once the Skyliner went in, the demand on this particular resort and also Art of Animation went way up because
it's just fantastic form of transportation.
So this resort is going to be best for guests that want the value pricing with better transportation, those that love to have easy access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios because of the Skyliner, first-time Disney visitors, couples and families who plan to spend a lot of their days in the parks, and then guests who just love the nostalgic atmosphere.
The value resorts in general are going to have kind of over the top, like super colorful theming.
And this one is no different.
Those that are, it's not going to be the best for.
Obviously, if you have a family of five, it's not going to work well for your family because you're going to have to get two rooms if you do stay here.
