You see, while expecting a return is certainly a recommended approach to a business investment, it can quickly become transactional when you're approaching God.
I mean, could you imagine, like, like making an investment in God to get a return? I know it sounds crazy, but we subconsciously do it all the time.
You're so busy, you're so important, that you've considered, "Okay, God, if I give you Sunday morning, what do I get?" [laughs] Hey.
I, I know you would never do that, but, but I wonder if you've actually just, like, considered coming up into the weekend, is Sunday morning worth going to church? Wow.
[laughs] It, it kind of sounds like, like i- if I seek you, God, will my life improve? Or, or how much do I pray before my anxiety goes down? I know it seems crazy, but subconsciously this is a return mechanism, the way we negotiate with God and see our seeking God as a worthwhile effort because I'm wondering what the return will be.
I actually think this is society's probably biggest prohibitor in actually finding God, because if you're thinking, uh, about seeking God from an investment strategy, a good investment strategy is not a singular investment.
