Tom Aspinall VACATES + UFC 331 PREVIEW | Joshua Van vs Alexandre Pantoja 2 & Arman Tsarukyan vs Mauricio Ruffy

Tom Aspinall has officially vacated the UFC heavyweight championship, bringing a stunning end to one of the most complicated title reigns in recent UFC history. I open the episode by reacting to the news and looking back at the last four years of Aspinall’s career — from the injury and interim championship to the Jon Jones saga, the Ciryl Gane fight, and everything that ultimately led to him giving up the heavyweight title. Then, I look ahead at where the division goes from here and who could compete for the vacant championship. From there, it’s time for UFC 331. Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja finally get the opportunity to settle their unfinished business, nine months after their first meeting ended in under 30 seconds due to injury. This time, Van enters as the flyweight champion with Pantoja looking to reclaim his place at the top of the division. In the co-main event, Arman Tsarukyan meets Mauricio Ruffy in a massive lightweight fight with major title-shot implications. I break down what’s at stake for both contenders before previewing several other ranked matchups across the UFC 331 card, including Patricio Pitbull vs Dooho Choi, Alonzo Menifield vs Iwo Baraniewski, Marlon Vera vs Charles Jourdain, and Casey O’Neill vs Eduarda Moura. A major shakeup at heavyweight, two huge fights at the top of UFC 331, and plenty more to discuss on this episode of Verbal Sparring! . . ***Time Stamps:*** (0:00) - Tom Aspinall vacates heavyweight championship (6:39) - Joshua Van vs Alexandre Pantoja preview (13:49) - The rest of UFC 331 - Arman Tsarukyan vs Mauricio Ruffy - Patricio Pitbull vs Dooho Choi - Alonzo Menifield vs Iwo Baraniewski - Marlon Vera vs Charles Jourdain - Casey O'Neill vs Eduarda Moura - Other notable names and fights to watch out for (32:32) - Outro . .
