Mauricio Ruffy

...

Ruffy and Patty

...

I'm, I'ma cut you off, man.

He'll clam up, and he won't throw strikes.

Very much how, um, how Mauricio Ruffy was in his fight where he just didn't throw any strikes anymore after he got taken down, and who, uh, BSD.

BSD was, like, able to get a takedown.

He's, he just stopped fighting.

You know, I mean, he had some nasty.

The Mauricio Ruffy one was bad.

There was another one before that that was bad.

I mean, it was bad.

One small window, one second, and that was the difference, man

manYeah, and conversely to that too, and I agree with everything Kenny's saying, but conversely is that all these, you know, uh, losses do take away from the mystique of Mauricio Ruffy.

Like, so guys will have more confidence.

Like when Tyson first got knocked out by Buster Douglas, everybody had confidence going in there.

Great point.

And he beat Huffy, who's ranked 10.

Good point.

Great point.

Justin beat the brakes off him.

Did he, though? In no way deserves the rematch over Armin.

Armin getting that title shot now after knocking out Huffy so dumbly.

Ilya versus Patty is the only fight.

And they're like, yeah, there's fights for him here.

If they give him somebody like, I know Armand's fighting next for the title, but if they give him someone in that top position, if they give him Mauricio Ruffy, I think he has a very hard time with Mauricio Ruffy.

Yeah.

Just the reach, the length, the size of Maurice and the speed.

Justin Gaethje is.

Amon Saruki in this situation with Mauricio Ruffy, he understood what the mission was.

It was to get the takedown pressure, try to slow down Ruffy's striking, which is to press him against the fence, control the tempo of the fight.

And I don't think it was until Mauricio Ruffy elbowed Armand Sorokin in the face and puffed up his eye that he was like, oh shit, I got elbows too.

Let me do it to you.

And I use myself as an example because in sparring, when I would spar with Fitch or Kostchik or Swick or anybody, and they would do something to me that worked and did some damage to me, I would turn around and do it right back to them.

He's gotten this far in life, making some good choices, fighting his ass off.

Good on him.

And, um-

... man, he's sleepy sleepy.

Yeah.

And for that reason alone, uh, he was able to maintain the, uh, featherweight title and, uh, he will move on to the next challenger.

And then in the lightweight co-main event, you had Armen Tsatsuryan defeating Mauricio Ruffy with an elbow straight to the face and knocking him out cold in round one.

Um, Patricia Pitbull defeating Du-Ho Choi with a KO in the first round.

Uh, you had Gable Stevenson getting absolutely destroyed by Sean Sharafa, Sharaf, with a KO in the first round.
