When we put this book together and tried to pitch it, it was gonna be an oral history of Vanderpump Rules, but as we started collecting interviews, it became so much more than that because the show and the fandom evolved from the beginning to the 11th season in a way that I don't think anyone saw coming.
And part of the book is trying to parse through what's real and what's not, what they're lying about, why they're lying about it.
Are they lying about it because they simply don't remember? Which honestly, maybe they don't.
Or are they lying about it to sell something? Are they lying about it because they did something-
... wrong? It's not just listening to one person's story, it's listening to 10 different stories and trying to find the truth in between the lines.
Content creators, journalists, professors, fans, TikTokers, podcasters, production, story writers, cast members.
It is the world Vanderpump Rules created, not just for its own inhabitants, but for everyone else who's at home myth-making around the show as well.
They don't want you to read this book because it's closer to the truth than what serves them.
