EP36: ‘MOAB’ Bolt Action event results

All right, well, how about I, for anyone who is a Moab virgin, how about I just outline the general Moab, and then maybe we'll take a break after that, and then I'll tell you about my experience.

How does that sound?

Yeah, great idea, Rex.

Go for it.

Tell us about it.

Alright, so Moab, mother of all battles, is held in Sydney, in Australia, and it's every year on our long weekend for, I can't even remember what it's for now, is it for Labor Day, that's it, get a free weekend, don't care why.

But yeah, Labor Weekend, which is on my birthday, and my birthday is on the 4th of October in case anyone wants to send me a cake or a bomb or something.

But yeah, it's always a great weekend.

It's a three-day event.

It's held in Sylvania, Australia.

which is in Sutherland Shire, just sort of like, I don't know, 20, 30 minutes drive, 20 minutes drive south of central Sydney.

I'm not a big Sydney person myself, so that's my rough estimate of it.

It's a fantastic venue.

It's a huge, huge venue.

It's maybe, yeah, three stories tall, big concrete structure.

And it has like mezzanine floors on top of that.

So it's sort of up to five stories tall in one point.

A big hall where the vendors are and this year they had the Bring and Buy was in that hall as well.

And then there's all game systems there that you can possibly think of.

40k some Warhammer Fantasy version, I'm not sure which.

There's Bold Action of course, my favourite game.

uh chain of command um and then there's uh you know some other games as well that that you know sort of i didn't really get to see um all kinds of various games and then i think on on the monday i'm not sure if this is a one-off on monday it's sort of board game monday um so okay yeah you can go along and see because a lot of the tournaments are are only in inverted commas two days um and so that monday's sort of sticks out there a little bit like a sore thumb um so i think they're trying to diversify and get something going there but It's a great thing to go along.

It's free to enter.

They have the bring and buy, which if you time it right, you can get in there and get a bargain.

And then there's the traders, so you can buy new stuff, which by the time you save on freight from this bottle of paint and this ink and that gaming mat or whatever, you can save yourself a lot just in freight alone, and plus seeing new products.
