Now, I'm guilty of one of these, Ian.
I actually do have one of these.
So see if you can guess them.
Three foods.
What three foods do you think you should not eat before a run?
I want to say banana for some odd reason that maybe that should be something you eat towards the end.
Yeah.
I mean, they get them in football, don't they? When I played football, we used to get bananas and that at half time and at the end.
So you go with banana.
I'll tell you the first one.
And then you might see a little bit of a link when we go through them.
Eggs.
So apparently you should never have eggs.
They're a nutrition source of protein and fat, but they aren't the most efficient source of run energy.
And eggs are too high in protein.
and don't provide the energy that we need.
So don't eat eggs.
I've never eaten eggs before I've run, but I do know people, ultra runners, who carry boiled eggs around in them.
Yeah, some do.
And depending on your preparation, if it's an early morning run and you're at a hotel, sometimes you might reach for the eggs, you know, because you think, yes, the hotel, if it's good enough, we'll have some, I don't know, some granola or some muesli there that you can... eat or some some porridge but often that's not enough so you might go for a little bit more and you know a sausage and bacon you think no no that's not not good so you might reach for the egg so yeah that surprises me a little
in that little thing you said there about the hotel number two you actually mentioned granola it contains a lot of fiber um including nuts seeds and dry fruit which means it digests slower and it's very likely to cause tummy troubles mid-run.
Now, I know, again, a lot of people who take flapjack, you know, and flapjack is nuts, raisins, you know.
I think trail mix is something that I want to say Mountain Fuel do, but it might not be Mountain Fuel.
It might be another company that does it.
