In this deeply personal episode, recorded from the Mediterranean coast of Lebanon, Maurice shares a moment of unexpected recognition. Over the course of 24 hours, four separate reflections arrived…
Maurice PhilogeneHostSo what I want to talk about today is what was my original mission? What I didn't understand when I set up that original mission, which I do understand today, the surprise that nobody tells you about after you build freedom.
And then what? Why some of you have reached out to me and said that I've evolved or maybe some of you are just hearing in the speech pattern and the topics of the episodes and the newsletters that I've evolved and what I'm actually building now.
And I think I finally realized that the five freedoms were never really the destination.
Geographic being a heavy one for me because I wanted to experience all the world has to offer.
And here I am by the Mediterranean Sea this morning where yesterday or the day before, I was actually by the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.
When I was a kid, I had vision about my life and I employed systematic patience.
It's how I developed a 25 year corporate career while executing a 22 year military career as a federal agent, while being a police officer at the same time, starting at age 33, because my heart and my soul wanted to do it.
but also while being a real estate investor for the past 30 years, an entrepreneur, for example, setting up the Try Life On podcast, owning restaurants, sailing coffee shops, I've talked about it.
And then I also talked quite a bit about my travels to 100 countries, which was never about traveling to see the world.
And the way you learn constantly is to get yourself into different environments.
But everything that I was doing over the original 25 years was pointed at freedom.
