Begging To Give | Thank You Sunday | The Grace Of Giving | Ps Cody Byrne | TRIBES

Now, we have spent the last two weeks in chapter 8.

Now, we have turned the page.

Now, Paul says this.

Now, it is superfluous.

What a word.

Or more than is needed.

For me to write to you about the ministry for the saints, for I know your readiness of which I boast.

I brag about you to the people of Macedonia, saying that Achaia has been ready since last year and your zeal has stirred up most of them.

Look at that.

Your zeal can stir up people.

Your passion for God can stir up people.

that your zeal has stirred up most of them, but I am sending the brothers so that our boasting about you may not prove empty in this matter so that you may be ready as I said you would be.

Remember, Paul is receiving a collection for the church.

He's receiving an offering.

Otherwise, if some Macedonians come with me and find that you are not ready, we would be humiliated.

We're talking about how ready you are, how generous you are.

If there's nothing to give, it would embarrass us.

He's saying, The Paul's just pastoring.

Hey, just a reminder.

But look at this, the point is this, whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly.

But whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

Now we're getting into kingdom principles.

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

And God is able to make all grace abound to you so that having all sufficiency, look at the promises, all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

As it is written, he is distributed freely.
