She was an artist in residence at the Tama Finland Foundation, and her work has been exhibited and screened internationally.

Coming from a background of shame and self-control and intense religious fanaticism on my own part, it felt like a really good countermeasure to be extremely direct and shameless.
A lot of my work is intensely masochistic, so I will bleed or cry.
I have a lot of difficulty crying in front of even intimate loved ones, which makes it feel even more important to me to be revealing with those difficult experiences.
Blood.video is a project where I am hosting a bunch of work that could not be hosted on basically any other site online.
The restrictions on what can be shown in monetized pornography are so ludicrously strict.
It's so artistically limiting.
And also limiting of just like showing the breadth of normal, healthy adult sexual interactions.
Like if a performer's on their period and bleeding, they can't show that.
And like one of the problems with this kind of moderation is that it pushes pornography towards much sketchier sites where harm is taking place.
Part of the reason I launched the site is as a form of protest, I guess.
Ostensibly, the credit card restrictions exist to protect people, but these are all videos where I am the one directing, and the ostensible impulse to protect me from myself is very frustrating.
This is my attempt to subvert that institution and just put it up for free and draw people to my work in ways that internet tastemakers are trying very hard to prevent right now.
Now, do you know someone like Karta who embodies trans joy? Well, send us an email at translash underscore podcast at translash.org and make sure to include their name, contact information, and why you think they should get a shout out in a future trans joy segment.
