Inside Italian Horror: Geretta Geretta

So in the 90s, I went to Northern Ireland to be a filmmaker because I saw five movies in a row that were all low budget.

And, um, I was always doing shorts and stuff like that.

And eventually I did go to and complete the screenwriting program at the American Film Institute.

So, you know, I'm saying stuff, but I'm not like saying stuff without some backup.

Okay.

I really, I really, I really did do stuff.

So anyway, I went to Ireland and, um, no one could say my name.

Oh,

okay.

And I'm used to this.

And it's a bit of like, now I make a joke about it.

And so if I don't feel like going into the whole detail, but I say, what's your name? Jaretta.

What? Jaretta.

So everyone in Ireland, because they're smart like that, they realized they were saying it twice.

So the Irish...

A film director, Brendan Byrne, he said, ah, screw that with your long name, too.

From now on, you're Jaretta Jaretta.

And that's how.

So I had a little summer TV program that I produced and wrote and appeared on camera.

And it was called Jaretta Jaretta Looks At.

And I would go and just interview people and talk about things that would be interesting to an American.

And it aired there.

And I got some nice money for it.

You know, it wasn't hard journalism.

And remember, this is like 90s.
