Um, so today we are actually gonna go turn to the topic of psychedelics, um, because a couple of-- there's been a couple of papers.
There's been one recent paper that just got published that really challenged my, um, a-admittedly very limited knowledge of psychedelics.
There was, uh, actually another paper published in 2023 that again challenged my understanding of not just psychedelics, but just, um, pharmacology in general, like, just, just how neurotransmitter works, um, in the brain.
So we're gonna try to get through two papers today on psychedelics, but I might fail on that.
There are some, uh, psychedelics that can af- that can affect, like, your cardiac rhythm as one of the side effects, and you don't want to take those-
Um, and also seroto- like psychedelics, as we will see today, um, affect a lot of serotonin system, and if you have too much serotonin, um, you can undergo this thing called serotonin syndrome-
Don't-- And also it, you can have a, you can almost be guaranteed a very, very bad time if you take too much psychedelics.
[chuckles] So, um, but today we will just talk about, uh, the science about psychedelics.
