People often ask me how I seem to get everything I want, but the truth is, there's nothing special about me. In this episode, I walk through my personal journey, the decisions, failures, and identity…
But it does – it is required because it's a part to talk about because it's a part of my journey and how I kind of ended up falling into social media.
Because I think at the time I didn't realize that acting was definitely kind of an escape for me.
Like I loved it at the time.
Like obviously I wanted to move across the country for it.
I was so dedicated to this thing.
But alongside that, I was dealing with a lot of health issues.
So I had secondary amenorrhea, which is when you like lose your period entirely.
They couldn't figure out what was wrong.
And then basically it turned out I had essentially like almost zero estrogen and progesterone in my body, which if you know anything about hormones, especially female hormones, that is horrible and awful.
And so they tried to put me on birth control.
And then if you guys know anything about birth control, It's not great, right? So it made things a lot worse for me, and this was all during the process of me actually moving all the way across the country.
So you had the added layers of the stress and the uncertainty and the anxiety.
Even though I don't think I felt those on the surface, they were all there still, right? And so this was the first time that I had left an entire life behind me, and I think I was so young I didn't even – conceptualize like what that actually meant for me.
But it was like, yeah, I left my family that I had grown up with, my dog, my friends, like anything that was familiar to me, I said, bye, like we're starting over, right? And at the same time, I was dealing with all these different health issues.
And that's when a lot of those things started to come to the surface.
And I wasn't able to hide a lot of that stuff.
And I was dealing with a lot of like ED, eating disorder type things as well that drastically played into also the hormone issues that I was experiencing.
And so All of these things were kind of happening in parallel to one another.
And I specifically remember that while all this was happening, this is also where like I really started to hit rock bottom, right? Like I was putting on weight.
I was feeling so inflamed even though I felt like I was eating less, trying to do this, trying to do that.
And I truly remember feeling there was a certain point and I want to say it was maybe a year and a half into moving to – LA that I just was like I like there is I don't know what else to do right like I there was that was the one moment in my life where I was like I feel so so helpless right now and I truly do not know what I'm supposed to do next and to give you guys a little bit of context on the career side of things at the same time I got really really fortunate when I first moved out to LA to get like a really cool job working for a social media assistant to like an influencer who was posting on Facebook they were making these like light-hearted comedy skits and While they were cheesy and tacky, they were very harmless and innocent.
And it was a great like first stepping stone for me because I got to start to see like the behind the scenes of social media while simultaneously also getting to do acting stuff.
Because I would sometimes be like the third person in these videos.
It also helped to grow my socials because they would sometimes tag me in certain videos.
