There's something about the Bible that is just absolutely fascinating to me.

There are some cool stories in the Bible, and I'm excited you guys are going through a lot of these stories over the summer.

Now, some of the stories are super confusing.

Some of the stories are rather funny.

Some of the stories are like you just don't know what to expect.

They are pretty good at twisting our minds.

But if we simply read through the Bible once or twice in our lifetime, and we don't really dive deep into the Bible, we can easily kind of find ourself treating the Bible like, you know, almost mythology.

And I would say that that's the wrong approach.

The Bible hasn't been given to us to read through once and then put it on the shelf, kind of with a, you know, been there, done that kind of an attitude.

The Bible, it needs to be like a partner to our life.

It's the living word of God that's to be wrestled with, pondered upon, regularly consumed, read multiple times so as to build on the nuances of your previous read.

That's how the Bible really works well.

I try and read the Bible once a year.

from cover to cover.

I try and go through the Bible once a year.

Most years I do that.

There are some years where I don't.

Some years I decide, you know, I'm going to slow down and I'm going to take the whole year and just read through the New Testament or a whole year just read through Psalms and Proverbs.

I did that for a while.

And so I slow it down and just kind of chew on it a little bit more.

But overall, I try and read through the Bible over the course of the year.

And every single time I do that, almost every year, I don't remember a year this didn't happen where I'm reading through the Bible and all of a sudden as I'm reading this, I'm like, huh, that's in the Bible? It's like brand new.

I don't know if I've read this before.

Well, of course I did, but I was probably daydreaming or something at that point and so it didn't really clue in.

There are other times where I'm reading through the Bible and it's like a light bulb goes off.
