On the air with Stephen Myers, Senior Communications and Church Relations Manager at the Union Rescue Mission, along with Mark Hood, the CEO of the Union Rescue Mission.

For anyone that wants to connect with Stephen and with Mark Hood, perhaps you're a member of a church and want to connect with URM, go to urm.org. And Stephen Myers, certainly it's been impressive to see you a church based in orange county connect with union rescue mission in recent years over the past year right tell us about the mariners church and what's happening there and certainly they are a shining example of a wonderful connection here
yeah definitely that's been a really beautiful relationship uh super excited to see how god has just really moved in that we're about to celebrate our first full year of mariners having their own congregation or campus at union rescue mission Which is really unique and special because it's not just church for the guests of Union Rescue Mission, but it's a full-on church for the community.
And so everyone's welcome, whether they're on the streets of Skid Row or they live downtown or somewhere else and they want to make Mariners at Union Rescue Mission their church home.
So they have a staff member, their campus pastor and staff who have their offices at Union Rescue Mission.

This is the fastest year ever, by the way, and we're heading into the holiday season as well.

So I'm sure there's going to be some wonderful Christmas and Thanksgiving events coming up.
And the church always comes in huge when it comes to needing volunteers or asking for resources.
All Nations Community Church, which is close by our Hope Gardens location, is one of those churches that has been involved on every single level, whether it's giving monthly from their budget, volunteering at events, helping us make events happen.
We're also excited about our relationship with Church on the Way, their Español campus, their Spanish church.
Pastor Mario has been leading that effort there at Hope Gardens to be kind of that weekly support church at Hope Gardens, which is fun and powerful and moving.

And by the way, Union Rescue Mission, it should be noted, is supported by all faiths.

At the Over the Edge event, several people came up to me and said, Hi, I'm Jewish.
