Songwriting, AI music, & finding truth in a digital world

So what about you? What's going on in your world today, Miss Kelly?

I don't know.

You're living in my world.

Well, while we were at your mom's house, my publisher, Tim, texted and he was like, hey, I can't say the band's name, but they're looking for Christmas songs.

And they're, by the way, cutting in two weeks.

What? Okay.

Well, let me just clear my schedule so Tori and I can write Christmas songs.

Which we

did.

See, this is the funny thing about when you do this, writing songs professionally, you can almost think about it.

If you can correlate this to like a construction job, it's like you have to be able to swing a hammer, got to be able to read a tape, got to be able to run a saw, got to be able to do all those things.

And if you're going to write songs, Got to be able to write the country.

Got to be able to write the rock.

And not everybody does that.

I guess some of them just kind of stick to their wheelhouse.

But they definitely seem to ask more of you on that.

You kind of got to be the all-arounder.

Yeah, well, I think one of the things that they like about me, which I like when people like things about me, is that I'm versatile.

I guess being from Jersey has served me well in a way, not to sound whatever, but, you know, it's good.

To sound whatever.

To

sound whatever.

It means I'm really, really good.

It

doesn't mean I'm really good.
