Kingdom Living (part 8)

We've been working through the Gospel of Luke with a focus on discipleship.

Mark spoke last week about community and the idea of gathering together, growing together, and going together.

We all know he loves alliteration.

So I'm going to try and take that torch up today.

I was asked to speak on compassion, loving others.

And on Tuesday when we met with the preaching team, they were like, Nick, you've won the lottery.

That's the easiest thing to speak on in all the series.

And I reckon they're right.

So I'm stoked.

So really I could just sing, all you need is love.

And we could all go home and we're done.

but we probably need a definition.

So I've got the lovely Janae to help me out with some slides.

They're going to come in just a moment.

But basically, compassion is sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.

Sweet, we know what love is now.

Roll the credits, we can all go home.

But let's at least read the passage.

So it's going to come up on the screen there for you.

If you've got your Bibles, you can turn to Luke 10, 25.

I will be reading from the NIV, but I will also use some other translations later.

So let's strap in.
