73. Football Games

We're going to do some World Cup predictions that Steve has arranged in a minute.

They are basically no stakes, not even low stakes, just no stakes.

But there are stakes in what is the Video Game Hall of Fame World Cup 2026 sweepstakes that I have already drawn and slightly rigged, which I'll explain later.

And I've decided that not only does the winner of the sweepstakes get to pit a game, any previously nominated game into the Hall of Fame, the second highest ranked person, so that may be the finalist loser or the third place, whoever comes highest next can put in any game previously nominated by someone other than themselves.

Nice.

Oh, yeah.

So, right, no more need to preamble.

Let's get to what happened in the sweepstakes.

What I'll do, if you want to write this down and make note of it, lads, is in the spreadsheet.

I'd hidden the sheet up until today, so it was a surprise.

I used Wheel of Names, as I showed on the social media for everybody who follows us there, and I just drew all the teams one at a time, and it was going alphabetical order of the recipient of the drawn team.

So Alex, Rob, Simon, Steve, and it just went on and on and on in that order.

So here we go.

The first team that came out, which was for me, was Curacao.

Rob, your first team, Mexico.

Simon, your first team, Morocco.

And Steve's first team was Saudi Arabia.

then we had alex austria rob panama simon egypt steve norway not great so far although morocco are actually ranked seventh in the world but that might because of all the cheating in the uh african cup of nations oh no yeah and then winning it by by default right round four uh three alex brazil Beautiful.
