So all the way back in December of 2025, almost a year ago now, Pebble, the rebirthed Pebble making smartwatches and other stuff, announced this thing called the Index-01, which is basically a smart ring with a button on it.
And the first time Eric Michakowski, the creator of Pebble, showed it to me was at CES the year before.
You hold it up to your mouth, you press a button, you talk, and it transcribes it onto your phone.
As a just dyed in the wool productivity app nerd slash psychopath, I wanted this thing immediately.
And then for months, months and months and months and months and months, I sat around waiting for my index to show up.
There was a package sitting on my door for like three days and it was it was the index.
becomes really important, right? You just need to be able to get ideas out of your head.
You need to be able to just dump stuff into a system as quickly as possible in order for AI to be able to work with that system.
I think a lot of the devices that are coming out to do this kind of thing are intrusive and gross and bad.
Like what Bee is doing at Amazon, where it's just this constantly recording wearable that is always on and always listening and giving you actionable insights about your day to day life.
But the idea of the index, which is very personal, it's only designed to record a really small amount of space around it, is that you hold it up to your mouth and you press the button.
It's not recording ever unless you press the button and you press the button and you talk and then it sends it to your phone, it transcribes it and it does whatever you want with it.
