On this week’s *Strength In Numbers* podcast, Elliott is joined by Mary Radcliffe, head of research at FiftyPlusOne, to dig into a truly wild week in polling. This week truly had it all: one…
Mary RadcliffeGuestSo Mary, oh my God, a lot to talk about in terms of fake surveys and lying liars who lie this week.

I mean, I feel like, you know, the poll that kicked a lot of this off, the so-called median strategies poll, which turned out to be completely fake.

It's interesting to me because all the serious people who do polls analysis, including us at 50 Plus One, spotted this right away.
Yeah, and we're going to talk about how you spotted that or why we didn't take the survey seriously later.
But for those of you who maybe haven't been following along the saga for median strategies, I believe this pollster, pollsters and scare quotes for those of you listening, it's fake.

They said they were trying to test like how quickly polls could spread and how they get around the Internet.

And I guess they did get around the Internet, but only in like pretty niche corners.

Because all of the major polling aggregators, including us at 50 Plus One, The New York Times, DDHQ, all the major polling aggregators did not publish this survey.

So it really only bounced around for folks that are following those polling aggregator Twitter accounts that just post like a picture of a tweet.
