A packed week in the Super Rygbi Cymru. We open with that wild Newport–Aberavon scoreline and ask whether televised SRC games are becoming too attack-heavy to show the league at its best. Cardiff…
Rob ReesHostOkay, let's kick this off, and we go back to Friday night to look at the television game.
And if you looked at just the scoreline, you would be wondering what the hell happened.
And at 73-33, you know, it's i- an im- impressive enough feat to score 11 tries, but you know, conceding five as well.
[chuckles] I mean, uh, Aberavon are gonna be, uh, you know, needing to work on the defense just a little bit.
But you know, they've, they've still come out fighting, and they've still got five points, try bonus point.
So, you know, d- [sighs] I, I, I don't want to say they'd be happy with the scoreline, but they'd be happy they came away with a point.
They can fire off, but it, it, you know, they, they still have in patches where they're conceding a fair bit of points as well.
Not really sure what to make of a 100-point game like this, 'cause it sort of feels like there's positives to take, but from, from either side, but no one really leaves fully satisfied.
Yeah
... probably up there for my Man of the Match, although I, I can't really argue with, with Hunter Ward too much, if I'm honest.
They were helped out massively by a couple of sloppy defensive mistakes to gift them basically two of the tries, or opportunities for two of the tries.
But yeah, I'll be honest, I'm, I'm not enjoying these games as much as I did last year on TV at the moment.
