Aberavon RFC

Uh, Ebbw Vale 14, Cardiff 59.

And Llandovery 66, Aberavon 21.

Uh, moving to the Premiership, uh, we've got Bargoed 31, Blaenau Gwent 26.

Uh, there aren't too many games, so moving on to Championship West.

Yeah.

I was away for the Aberavon game, and was really expecting us to win that game.

I started watching it on the, uh, on the app, and it was like 17, 18 points up, and I thought, "Yeah, good afternoon." Um, my younger boy said to me something along the lines of, "It's 'cause you're not there," or something.

[laughs]

...

I don't think it was as bad as people made it out to be.

What was the final score against Aberavon?

Oh, was it 33-17 or something like that? I, I-

And at 73-33, you know, it's i- an im- impressive enough feat to score 11 tries, but you know, conceding five as well.

[chuckles] I mean, uh, Aberavon are gonna be, uh, you know, needing to work on the defense just a little bit.

But you know, they've, they've still come out fighting, and they've still got five points, try bonus point.

So, you know, d- [sighs] I, I, I don't want to say they'd be happy with the scoreline, but they'd be happy they came away with a point.

It's a bit of a weird one, as you say.

Not really sure what to make of a 100-point game like this, 'cause it sort of feels like there's positives to take, but from, from either side, but no one really leaves fully satisfied.

Um, I thought Aberavon's defense is near on non-existent, and they were really weak in the middle.

Like, Newport hit them on the counterattack an awful lot.

So fixtures both help us to kick off.

We've got Llandaffery at home to Aberavon and Quinns travelling to Newport.

It is Cup week, so when I get on to fixtures, they are all in the relative cups.

So in the Premiership, the league, Narberth lost 47-12 at Beda.

Oh, yeah, yeah.

He, he's a center, and is listed as a winger at Aberavon.

So he has now gen- even though he won a national title at seven-

Yeah

I guess one positive for Hancock and the team is...

Obviously, you're going in, similar to what Bridgend did against Aberavon, heavily down and trying to turn it around.

They came out all guns blazing and gave it a bash and came back within a score at one stage.

And the final play of the game, effectively, was Ponterpool trying to come out with their own 22, trying to get that converted try that would have seen them win the game.

Still a few points shy of hitting the six-point match day win.

And our last game is our televised fixture.

And it is Aberavon.

Against Ebbw Vale, six points against six points.

Starting with the SRC.

Aberavon 26, Ebbeville 52.

Cardiff 49, Swansea 35.

And finally a win, Pontypool 38, Bregen 50.

Brackler, 21.

Moving on to the West Central League, League 1.

Aberavon Green Stars, 28.

Wynarlyth, 27.

We'll go to Tag.

where Aberavon hosted Bridgend.

And me and you, we went back and forth a little bit on this, and we thought Bridgend being slightly more settled was going to be enough to come through in this game.

And, you know, at the start, it very much looked like so.

Three early tries, I think within the first 25 minutes or so.

17-0 up, Bridgend looked good.

But we then get caught to see what Aberavon are made of.

And that pack, those forwards, they look like they could be a lot to handle for a few teams this season.

Um, don't quite know where Jack's gone, but yeah, I'll move on to the community results, um, from the weekend just gone.

Uh, SRC's kicked off and Aberavon thumped Bridgend 36-17, and Ebbw Vale 40, Swansea 12.

Uh, Premiership result, Cross Keys 32, Neath 27.

Uh, moving on to the Championship.
