Now, if I'm sipping tea throughout the video, you know why, because yeah and as i as i explain this the truth is like obesity affects millions of people right but the numbers are even higher in the black community which is why it's something that i actually highlighted and it's there's a reason why i decided i'm going to talk about it so first things first you know me i always look at a bit of statistics i always do my research and do a bit of data digging and the date is interesting i'm going to be looking at my screen but according to the nhs and they did a survey in 2021 so what they found is 38 of black women in england are obese that's the highest of any ethnic group and when you include overweight and obesity is 70 which is crazy and obviously overweight is a little bit i don't like that i don't like that term because they usually do that by the bmi and by bmi standards i'm overweight but like i mean if i step back Do I look overweight to you? No.

Obviously, I've got higher muscle mass and I had to probably have a bit more weight than what I need.

But, you know, I ain't overweight, am I? So there is that caveat because, yeah, you can be overweight by being my standards and healthy.

And then when you combine overweight and obese, 67% of black men fit in that category, which technically I fit in that category, but you know, as I said, do I look like I'm overweight? So if we just compare this, yeah, let's just compare it by ethnicity.

So what it does show us is that obviously the black community has the highest obesity prevalence, right? And black women are disproportionately affected, right? And this contributes to all the issues that you may know.

I don't know about you, but how many people in your family have diabetes? I know too many aunties, uncles suffering with blood pressure, diabetes, all those kind of issues.

And it's really, you know, it's really an issue that is actually important to me just because I don't want anyone in my family having to deal with those health issues.
