THE FOOD SHOW – MAY 12, 2026

Today I went into town and I didn't have a lot of time.

So I went into town and made a couple of stops, errands, and I was in Metairie.

I was racking my brain about where to go.

And I remembered that I thought someone had told me that Dini's was making their own stuffed artichokes.

I remain in a quest to find a stuffed artichoke worthy of... not my time, but just worthy of being a stuffed artichoke.

I mean, stuffed artichokes to me are a lofty thing, and I'm always in an eternal quest to find one that I want to eat as much as the one my mom made, which was, in my opinion, the gold standard.

And if someone is making their own, that's great.

So I have checked out a couple of these.

Anyway, they do make their own.

And I called over there.

Darian has waxed prophetic about Dini's before.

And I'm always, do I follow that or not? Because I've had my hit and misses with that.

So I decided I would, because I was there, and I had really, you know, talked or written about other things in that area.

I was looking to go to R&O's, but they weren't open today.

So...

I swung in and I got a stuffed artichoke, which they do make in-house.

And I got some, I didn't want to just leave with a stuffed artichoke, so I got a couple other things.

I got artichoke hearts, fried artichoke hearts.

Everything I had was fried except the stuffed artichoke and the seafood gumbo.

So I got seafood gumbo, They had a crawfish bisque, which I was curious about.

I didn't want to get two soups.

But they had a crawfish bisque that I was wondering if they had stuffed heads.

I couldn't imagine that they did.

But I didn't want to get that much.

So I got the crawfish.
