Episode 168 - Serie B Preview (THE LOST EPISODE)

And like Série A, let's go state by state.

Um, and let's start off with CRB.

Uh, they hail from the city of Maceió in the state of, um, Alag- Alagoas.

Um, not a state you hear a lot about in Brazil.

They finished eighth last year, which was actually pretty impressive for a club of, uh, of their financial, um, you know, size.

Uh, they're in 18th place right now as we, um, we sit after four matchdays in Série B. Um, some big-time players for them include Danielzinho, formerly of Bahia and Fluminense, Thiago Fernandes, uh, a former Flamengo youth team product.

Um, Eduardo Barroca is the manager.

But Enric, not a lot going on, uh, in terms of the team, and I think in terms of their success this year.

Uh, they had a pretty good season last year.

I don't think it's gonna hold up.

I think the Galo da Praia, the beach rooster, as they're known, is gonna sink, and they're gonna finish in the lantern of Série B in 20th place.

Okay.

I don't have them too far away from you.

For me, CRB are the champions of Campeonato Alagoano 2026 after they beat their rivals, ASA, 4-1 on aggregate.

They are 36-time state champions, so they only have four less than CSA.

Last year in Copa do Brasil, they were eliminated by Cruzeiro in the round of 16 after they originally beat Santos in the previous round.

Uh, in Série B, uh, their position is pretty bad, like you said, in 18th place.

They tied with Villa Nova and Rezendino, and then they lost to Avaí and Athletic Club.

This year in Copa do Brasil, they beat Porto, they beat Sousa, and also they beat Figueirense.

So now they'll be playing Fortaleza in the fifth round.

They are also playing Copa do Nordeste, tied to Itabaiana, lost to Vitória and ASA, which are their state rivals.

And regarding the transfers, they let go of two important players.

One of them is William Potker, who went to Ponte Preta, and the other was Leo Pereira, who went to CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria, I believe, for €800,000.

But they signed Bressan for Sapecoense and Guilherme Pato from América Mineiro, who also featured for Figueirense three years ago or two years ago, was their top scorer.

Everyone was talking about him.
