I think that one of the things that comes into my mind today that I definitely would want us to talk about is how leadership is a lonely place.

Ooh.

Yeah.

You know...

One of the things I've grown up noticing is that you can be surrounded with so many people and still feel very alone.

And I think that this is one of the truths of leadership and one of the pains of leadership that people don't necessarily know because we are always surrounded by people.

You are surrounded by, when you're home, you're surrounded by family.

In your case, your siblings, your mother, your father.

In my case, my wife, my children.

You come to church from the get-go before you get to the office.

There's a protocol at the door.

You come to church.

You're preaching to hundreds and hundreds of people.

When you finish, there are people queuing up to see you.

You go to conferences here and there and all of that.

And it can almost create... that impression that leaders are always surrounded by people that they are constantly maybe able to talk to, open up about, and all of these kind of things.

But I think that one of the things that you yourself would know is that the place of leadership is a very lonely

place.

If everybody has an issue, they go to their pastor.

Who does the pastor go to when they have an issue? And, you know, I know that it's not everybody that is necessarily blessed with having some people above them that they are able to talk about.

And sometimes it's, you know, it's the fact that you are surrounded by so many people, but you are afraid to even let them know what you are going through.
