So all is good, all is good here, but today we are talking about the five things that we would do if we started again or if we had to start from scratch.
And we do this a lot in the Coach Parry platform-
... or just as run coaches in general, is that we often get people who come to us who want to know where to start and how to kind of crack on with running.
So it's kind of, uh, quite important.
So we've both got kind of roughly five rea- five things we would do, um, and they do cross over quite a bit.
And I'm gonna start with my first one, um, which is to know or define your why.
And I do think this is a really important one.
When I was sort of going through this last night thinking, "What would I do?" And I actually put this at the end of the list, and then I thought, "No, I think this should be top of list." Why are you wanting to take up running? In this, if you're a bit older, coming in, say, over your 50s, over your 60s, or your 70s, why do you suddenly want to start running?
Um, and that's important to know to then to know how you're going to sort of structure your running going forwards.
You know, it could be for health reasons, and in which case you maybe need the doctor and a little MOT to check, or maybe you've already been told by the doctor that you need to get a little bit healthier-
... and stronger.
It could be a weight management, which we see very often, and sometimes running isn't always the best for that.
But, um, and again, it needs a sort of correct structure.
Could be that your friends are dragging you along.
Whatever it is, knowing and defining your why is a really good place to start 'cause I think that'll sort of focus on your end goals and where you're going.
So I think that's my number one first one.
