I mean, um, I would-- I was over in, uh, California for about 10 days in August with my wife doing some work, and then, um, back to, yeah, back to LA again in November for, uh, for some film event thing, which sounds a lot of fun.
Well, I was, you know, obviously thrilled that you were down to do this, you know, kinda throwing-- get-getting the, getting the praise out of the way.
You know, I'm, I'm, I'm a huge fan of, of, of your work, um, have been for, for several, several years.
Um, I thought it'd be a funny way to kick this off, um, you went and saw-- I haven't seen it yet.
I'm, I'm hoping to catch it here soon, but you went and saw the new Tom Cruise, uh, Digger film.
So when I first heard about this, I was like, "Yeah, it's, it's-- this sounds ridiculous," and I'm all for it.
I'm so glad that he is still, you know, kind of holding this romantic candle in the wind, um, for, for cinema.
Um, and I think it's definitely, even for someone like Tom Cruise, it was a pretty, um, experimental, um, kind of...
Um, but I, I yeah, I'm just curious, like, what your thoughts were, and obviously when you, you know, you see criticism of a film or an album, and then you see culture kind of truly decide like, "No, we, we like this or we didn't," um, that's kind of the, you know, the ones to trust.

I, I, you know, I, I enjoyed the, the director's previous work, so I sort of thought it could probably be a good movie.

I mean, Tom Cruise is always gonna attract attention to anything because, you know, he's one of the biggest movie stars in the world, and, you know, tends to make big blockbuster films.

So I suppose in a way, him doing something, you know, quite alien to that, uh, that's challenging and, uh, you know, political in, in many ways, um, was, [chuckles] was brave and courageous.

But I mean, I guess the problem is that, that, that whoever was at Warner Brothers and Paramount, they, they probably spent a ridiculous amount of money marketing the film and, you know, it didn't, it didn't do great at the box office.

I mean, I don't get why it didn't because I think it's a really incredible movie, one of the best films of the year by, by a long shot.
